Climate Satellites

NASA is cutting back on climate science satellite programs, according to the Boston Globe.
"NASA has canceled, scaled back, or delayed all of the planned earth observing missions," said Berrien Moore III, director of the Institute for the Study of Earth, Oceans, and Space at the University of New Hampshire.
NASA needs the money, you see, to put people on the Moon and Mars. Why waste time and effort monitoring something as big and complex as the Earth when there are so many simplier systems out there?

Speaking of which, has Bush even mentioned the Moon or Mars once since he brought it up when he needed something to fill his State of the Union speech a few years back?
